The importance of self-compassion in rough times

We all have an inner voice that speaks to us. But that chatter in your head can be ruthless, especially during stressful times. So, if the Covid-19 pandemic has turned your self-talk nasty, how can you learn to be kinder to yourself and quieten those critical thoughts?

We’ve all been there – lying awake at night, mercilessly dragging ourselves through the mental wringer over a mistake, failure or perceived shortcoming. The things that make us human can often act as kindling for a fiery dose of self-criticism, negative self-talk and unhelpful rumination.
