With winter on its way, dry, chapped lips are a common complaint, especially if you like the outdoors.

Beeswax is a wonderful moisturiser and quite easy to get hold of, whether you buy it as candles or in a block or pellets at your local health food store or online. Use it to make this balm.

Ingredients

1⁄4 cup grated beeswax

3 tablespoons Kremelta (available at supermarkets)

2 tablespoons cocoa butter

1 tablespoon almond or olive oil

Method

1. Mix all ingredients together in a double boiler to melt.

2. Pour into small lip balm jars or ice block containers.

3. Allow to cool.
